A faceted hexagon pendulum of sodalite, 30-35 mm, on a silver chain.
The cool, smooth stone surface and the steady weight of the pendulum stay the same in the hand. Grounding-oriented profiles are characterized by a need for continuous, familiar, or consistent somatosensory information to stay aware of the physical body and the present moment (Dunn, 2001). A cool, smooth sodalite pendulum with a defined shape best fits the preference for carrying an object and rubbing or handling it. Objects like this offer continuous somatosensory input through surface texture, geometry, and thermal properties (McGlone et al., 2014), and consistent input helps people with low registration remain physically oriented within their environment (Dunn, 2001).
