The 4-tube chime set holds 4 heat-treated aluminum tubes, hand-tuned to the listed frequencies, with a hanger and a mallet.

The four tubes sound 537.8, 543.4, 545.6 and 550 Hz, a span of 12.2 Hz from the low to the high end.

Hand tuning gives each tube clean tones with long sustain. The chime maker tests each tube to within +/-0.5% accuracy. Each tube sounds several frequencies, and a gentle tap brings out the main frequency.
