Hippos symbolize power, deep understanding and protection of family. They are the second largest mammal on earth. Hippo means ‘River Horse,’ and the hippo spends most of its day in water, being highly territorial and protective of their young.

Bursting with personality, this delightful metal hippo is hand crafted from recycled 40 gallon oil drums in Zimbabwe. The artists leave what remains of the original fun and vibrant colors on the drums, creating this unique mosaic effect.  It's another wonderful example of creating beauty from waste - something African artists do uniquely well. Add a touch of African decor to your porch, garden or inside space - order a family of hippos today!
