Rewild Wormwood Incense

The handcrafted Rewild incense is made with wormwood, agarwood and sandalwood on an elm bark binder. Each of the 25 sticks measures 8.3 inches (21 cm) and burns 30–40 minutes.

Wormwood gives a green, dry, herbal scent that suits a variety of routines, including airing out a room, a seasonal reset and a return from time outdoors, and your favorite places such as open, well-ventilated places such as your living room, studio or sunroom.

Aroma activates the olfactory and limbic systems, creating spatial and emotional clarity (Herz, 2016) used to define identity, intention, and environment (Classen, Howes & Synnott, 1994). This experience reduces vigilance, making our emotions more stable (McEwen, 2007); it supports mood regulation (Panksepp, 1998), and strengthens cultural belonging (Assmann, 2011).

Pairing Note

Visual: Aroma paired with visual objects becomes cross-modal interpretation. Objects with an aroma become defined sensory cues: their color, form, and presentation shape how the aroma is understood (Lakoff, 1987). Visual–aroma integration strengthens affective response—enhancing pleasure when the scent is preferred and intensifying dislike when it is not (Juslin & Västfjäll, 2008). These responses support memory formation and make the moment easier to recall (Herz, 2016).
