The multiple-coat method is what separates this from ordinary resin craft. A single thick pour would flood the mushroom's ridges and bury the detail; thin coats build up in layers instead, sealing the fungus while its wavy cap edges and gill ridges stay readable, and the finished piece behaves more like amber than like a coating. Chanterelle flesh is dense enough to hold its shape through that process, which is why the warm caramel colour survives rather than browning. The hardware is deliberately plain so nothing competes with the mushroom.
