Simple Seed Natural Fruit Pit Charm

A strap charm with a stack of natural fruit pits and seeds, anchored by a smooth, dark brown, heart-shaped fruit pit with a polished surface. Tiny red beads and teal green thread wrapping accent a waxed cotton cord. A small Bodhi-style bead and light beige seeds add a rougher texture.

The polished heart-shaped pit invites the thumb to run over it, while the rougher bead and light seeds add texture. Grounding-oriented profiles are characterized by a need for continuous, familiar, or consistent somatosensory information to stay aware of the physical body and the present moment (Dunn, 2001). A charm that pairs a polished pit with rough seeds best fits the preference for carrying an object and rubbing or handling it. Objects like this offer continuous somatosensory input through surface texture, geometry, and thermal properties (McGlone et al., 2014), and consistent input helps people with low registration remain physically oriented within their environment (Dunn, 2001).
