A smooth, palm-sized polished stone engraved with the words "This Too Shall Pass." It fits in the hand or a pocket.
The smooth, cool surface and compact size make the stone easy to turn in the fingers. Grounding-oriented profiles are characterized by a need for continuous, familiar, or consistent somatosensory information to stay aware of the physical body and the present moment (Dunn, 2001). A smooth polished pocket stone best fits the preference for carrying an object and rubbing or handling it. Objects like this offer continuous somatosensory input through surface texture, geometry, and thermal properties (McGlone et al., 2014), and consistent input helps people with low registration remain physically oriented within their environment (Dunn, 2001).
