Handcrafted Anti-Aging Kit

Produced as a four-piece routine, this handcrafted formula combines an anti-aging facial cleanser, a toner for normal skin, a CoQ10 lotion, and a nighttime wrinkle serum. Each piece supports an anti-aging routine.

The nighttime wrinkle serum contains hyaluronic acid, which is commonly used to plump fine lines. The lotion contains CoQ10, usually used to support aging skin and minimize signs of photoaging. Aloe vera is regularly used to support hydration. Vitamin C also helps brighten dull complexions. Vitamin E is also commonly used to protect lipid-rich skin and seal in hydration. Jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, and glycerin also act to support hydration. Avocado oil, sunflower oil, rosehip seed oil, and sea buckthorn also help soften dry skin and support the skin barrier. Myrrh and lavender are also commonly used to calm and soothe irritated skin. White willow bark extract, lemongrass, grapefruit oil, and rosemary also act to clarify blemish-prone skin and pores. Carrot seed oil and frankincense also help support mature skin. Xanthan gum and cetearyl alcohol are also commonly used to control thickness and stabilize the formula. The serum also contains DMAE, a synthetic compound commonly used for a temporary skin-firming and lifting effect.

Skin care engages touch at each step of a routine, and the step depends on the product. Cleansing products lift surface oils, debris, and bacteria from the skin (Aiello & Larson, 2002). Moisturizing products such as creams, lotions, and balms add emollients that soften the skin surface and help hold in hydration. Serums, masks, and treatments are applied to specific areas of the face, and the pressure of application adds to the sensation. Applying any of these products activates C‑tactile afferents, the nerve fibers that process pleasant touch (Löken et al., 2009; McGlone et al., 2014). Slow, massage‑like pressure is associated with reduced stress and relaxation (Field, 2010; Field, 2015), and warmth and absorption add to the sensation as the product meets the skin.

• Best used for a daily cleanse, tone, and moisturize routine, with the serum at night. Suited to those who tolerate tree nut oils and butters and essential oils.
• Use: Cleanse: lather a dime-sized amount gently, rinse, and pat dry. Tone: on clean skin, spray 3 to 4 pumps from 4 to 6 inches away. Moisturize: massage a dime-sized amount of the lotion into the skin by day, or the Wrinkle Serum at night.
