Rose Quartz & Moss Agate Meditation Mala

A 27-bead mala of 8 mm Rose Quartz, Moss Agate, Green Aventurine, and Amazonite, anchored by a 12 x 18 mm oval Moss Agate guru stone. Each bead is hand-knotted on forest green C-Lon thread. It is finished with a 1.25-inch silky green tassel and silver-plated accent beads. Four rounds of the 27 beads make a traditional 108 count.

Moving from bead to bead around the 27-bead mala sets a steady count, and the guru stone marks the end of each round. Rhythmic regulation profiles use repetitive, predictable, and continuously recurring motor patterns to maintain attentional engagement, and benefit from the consistency, cadence, and predictability of repeated physical actions (Nakamura & Csikszentmihalyi, 2002). A mala that is counted bead by bead over 27 beads best fits the preference for repetitive hand motions and predictable movement patterns. Repetitive activities often contain the conditions associated with flow states, including sustained attention, clear procedural structure, and immediate sensory feedback (Nakamura & Csikszentmihalyi, 2002).
